Board of Directors

Smart Start of Brunswick County is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of members from the Government, Services and Business/Community sectors. Members include representatives of non-profit services, schools, child care, health & social service agencies and businesses & community at large.

Board Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every other month. Meetings are held at 5140 Sellers Street, Shallotte, NC (unless indicated otherwise) at 8:30 am.

The Board of Directors works to develop:

• Community partnerships that will provide a seamless system of services for all young children and families.
• Awareness of and involvement in activities that support families and children
• Programs and services to ensure that every child enters school prepared for success
• Access to high quality, affordable, early childhood care and education for all children
• Access to appropriate health care services for children
• On-going fiscal and programmatic accountability standards evaluation.
