Child Care Quality Consultants work with child care providers to increase or maintain the quality of their child care programs by providing on-site consultation, technical support, training and mentoring. The consultants work with child care directors and staff as well as state licensing consultants to develop plans to ensure educational requirements are maintained and other requirements are met. Child Care providers do a very important job teaching our communities' children, however, they are generally underpaid. As we strive for higher quality standards, many of these same teachers are obtaining higher education in their field. The WAGE$ program provides a salary supplement to participating providers based on their educational levels.
