This pre-kindergarten program allows eligible four year olds the opportunity to learn in high quality educational environments without cost to their families. Children served in NCPre-K must be four years old by August 31st and not eligible to enter kindergarten this school year. There is an income eligibility and service priorities. Brunswick County NCPre-K classrooms are located in child care centers and Head Start programs. This program is administered by Smart Start of Brunswick County.

In Shallotte at Smart Start office, 5140 Sellers Street:

      Tuesday, March 6th                   7:30 am - 2:00 pm

      Wednesday, March 7th             12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Information to bring with you to registration: 

• copy of your child's birth certificate
• copy of your child's social security card
• current immunization information
• proof of residency (driver's license, copy of utility bill, etc.)
• verification of family income (paystub, W2, tax returns, etc.)
