Volunteers can move mountains - their efforts and projects have helped thousands of children in Brunswick County. This section only highlights a few of the volunteer opportunities available within Smart Start of Brunswick County. Committees

If you are good at planning, organizing and leading, or if you are interested in future Board service, the following Board committees and Task Forces could use your help.
 

Resource Development & Communications Committee - develops and implements the Partnership's Resource Development and Communications Plan. Various fund-raising strategies and projects are planned in conjunction with efforts to market and increase the public awareness of the Partnership's programs.
 
Program Committee- selects the projects funded with Smart Start dollars and monitors the projects for programmatic and fiscal accountability.
 
Child Care Resource & Referral Advisory Committee - provides guidance for the direction of the child care resource and referral services.
 
 
Projects

The following projects require specific volunteers. Check those you may be interested in.

  Driver - to deliver learning materials to child care centers.  Requires current NC driver's license  and background check.   date posted 5/1/07

  Event Planning & Coordination - Assist with planning annual "State of the Child" breakfast. The event focuses on educating the community on the well being of children.  Event to be held in June, 2008  date posted 5/5/08
