The Program for Infant Toddler Care-This training module
challenges participants to articulate their philosophy of infant/toddler care and the teacher family partnership so that they can communicate
it to families. The lesson will address how participants can encourage families to become involved in their infant or
toddler’s childcare program. Participants examine their own attitudes toward family involvement, share their experiences, and consider
innovative strategies for including families in the childcare program. The next lesson provides participants with a deeper appreciation of
culture as a process that empowers the individual. Distinctions are made between teaching cultural appreciation and achieving cultural
empowerment in the childcare setting. Finally, the participants examine specific ways that culture influences development and those childcare
practices reflect cultural beliefs. 2 Contact Hour Credits. Hybrid class: takes place at SSBC and via Zoom simultaneously
